Kevin's social conscience was first sparked while listening to the Clash and Public Enemy during his years attending high school in Stow. Knowing that he could never hope to possess the musical talent or lyrical ferocity of either Joe Strummer or Chuck D, Kevin decided that the best way to do something about social justice would be to pursue a career in politics. However, after becoming disillusioned by the bureaucracy of Washington, DC during an internship, Kevin realized that the classroom would be a better place to think creatively and critically about politics. His subsequent journey through academia took him from the College of Wooster to Virginia Tech and finally on to his PhD in Political Science. He now lives and teaches outside of DC. But, for all of these travels, Kevin's heart still lies in northeast Ohio – with the Indians, Swenson's, and the Lake Effect.Where it's at: the Indians (of course), good beer, punk/new wave, spaghetti westerns, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Cajun food, college basketball, John Cusack, improvisational comedy, trivia nights, "B" monster movies…
Words of wisdom Kevin lives by:
The unexamined life is not worth living. – Socrates
No man born with a living soul can be working for the clampdown. – The Clash
The directions say "cook and chill," and that's what I do…first I cook, and then I chill. – Barry and Levar
